The Lego Group developed the theme into a media franchise aimed primarily at young boys and pre-teenage boys, which has produced books, video games and theme park attractions. However, after a brief hiatus, the line was continued after feedback from fans and has been in production ever since. Ninjago enjoyed phenomenal popularity and success in its first year, and a further two years were commissioned before a planned discontinuation in 2013. The ninja are trained in the fictional martial art of "Spinjitzu" by their ancient and wise teacher, Master Wu, giving them the ability to fight against the forces of evil. The main ninja characters are defined in the story as "Elemental Masters", which means that they each possess elemental powers. The theme focuses on a group of six teenage ninja, led by the legendary Green Ninja, Lloyd Garmadon. Whilst it retains some elements of the previous theme, it is based on a more detailed storyline set within a fantasy world, primarily underpinned by the computer-animated television series Ninjago. It is the first theme to be based on ninja since the discontinuation of the Lego Ninja theme in 2000. Lego Ninjago is a Lego theme that was created in 2011 and a flagship brand of The Lego Group. If the pool game was 9-ball, you could have left the position shown with confidence. Ball-in-hand on any miss demands solid, not half-hearted, safety play.Īvoid being the first player to use their only safety! Consider the layout in Figure 1. Think through Rule 4 in 7-Ball pool, as a miss could end the game for you promptly. The added defense plays slow the game slightly but allow players of differing skill levels to compete on an equal basis. Rule 2 may be altered to handicap play, with one player allotted one safety and their opponent two, three or more safeties. Intense concentration is demanded of you! Most beginners I've taught 7-ball love this training aspect of the game.ħ-ball is a fast-paced game. A single miss means the incoming player could win instantly. Any miss is treated as a scratch in 8-ball or 9-ball. For example, "7-ball in the right side pocket and safety!" In other words, you may attempt the win but if you miss, you've declared the shot a defensive one in foresight, so that your opponent does not receive ball-in-hand.Ĥ) Any shot not sending a ball into a pocket yields ball-in-hand to the opponent. Play progresses as in other billiards rotation games such as 9-ball (shoot at the lowest ball and after the hit, if any ball other than the cue ball pockets your turn continues) but with four fascinating additional rules:ġ) The 7-ball’s pocket must be a call shot to win (declared before the stroke) as in "7-ball in the lower right corner!"Ģ) Each player is allotted one (1) called safety (an intentional defensive stroke, a shot played to miss, usually) per game.ģ) Safety and a pocket may both be declared on the 7-ball for the same stroke. Smash the balls hard and give them a whirl. The cue ball must hit the 1-ball first during the break. Rack the billiards balls numbered one through seven into a circle, with the one to the front and the maroon seven in the center as depicted above.īegin the game with an open break. You can either pick and choose what you want in it or grab a pre-made one and go. Shadow Home Affairs Minister Edward Garnier said: "The amount paid out to prisoners in compensation has doubled to £4m in just one year."Įarlier this year it emerged that compensation payments to prisoners doubled from £2.19 million in 2004-05 to £4 million in 2005-06, with one inmate receiving £2.7 million following a failed suicide attempt. "The Prison Service will try to meet the needs of prisoners who do not wish to sleep on the top bunks but this will not always be possible due to constraints imposed by population pressures and health and safety concerns, as rail guards could be used as ligature points by prisoners trying to commit suicide." "Prisoners who sleep in bunk beds have been advised for some time on how to use them safely and are encouraged to report any concerns to prison staff," he said. "If this is indeed Prison Service policy then I feel that all inmates need to be aware of the implications, as I understand that currently some 30,000 are in accommodation designed for one."Ī Prison Service spokesman said its policy on bunk beds was not as suggested in Mr Cooper's letter. He added: "The governor here denies any liability, however informs me that any inmate who does not feel safe in a bunk bed on the top bunk will not be compelled to go into one. "Since my fall, this prison has not upgraded its risk assessment of bunk beds, which I consider to be a breach of health and safety regulations." I am currently pursuing a claim for negligence. Mr Cooper wrote: "In November 2005, I turned over in my sleep and fell from the top bunk of my bed sustaining a bad gash to the head. Mr Cooper suggested prisoners could not be compelled to sleep in the top bunk if they felt unsafe, and told fellow inmates to be "aware of the implications" in the current jail overcrowding crisis. In a letter to prisoners' magazine Inside Time, Mr Cooper wrote: "Bunk beds are an accident waiting to happen." Gerry Cooper, a prisoner at Bullingdon jail in Oxfordshire, launched a negligence claim after allegedly cutting his head in a night-time tumble from the top bunk. Hospital bed rails are not only an essential safety feature but also contribute to enhancing the overall patient experience during their stay at a medical facility. Additionally, bed rails can facilitate the proper positioning of patients during medical examinations or treatments, ensuring optimal patient comfort and care. By providing a secure handhold, bed rails can aid in the safe and efficient transfer of patients from the bed to a wheelchair, gurney, or other surfaces. Hospital bed rails also play an essential role in assisting caregivers during patient care tasks. This support can help to promote independence, maintain patient dignity, and reduce strain on caregivers. Patients who require assistance in getting in and out of bed, repositioning themselves, or adjusting their position for comfort can utilize the bed rails as a stable handhold. In addition to fall prevention, hospital bed rails serve as a valuable aid for patient mobility. This is particularly important for patients with limited mobility, cognitive impairments, or those who may be disoriented due to medication or illness. By providing a physical barrier along the sides of the bed, these rails help to keep patients safely contained within the bed while resting or sleeping, thereby reducing the risk of injury due to accidental falls. One of the primary functions of hospital bed rails is fall prevention. 69 Figure 11: Special Operations Forces (SOCOM M115-2). 68 Figure 10: METOC-NAVSPECWAR Organization. 36 Figure 8: Location of Fleet Marine Force Activities. 6 Figure 6: Army Operational Unit Diagram (from army.mil). 5 Figure 5: Air Force OWS Geographic Areas of Responsibility. 4 Figure 4: Air Force Global Weather Centers. 3 Figure 3: Air Force Weather Agency Organizational Structure. 1 Figure 2: Air Force Weather Functional Alignment. Vermouth traditionally uses wormwood (the German word for which is wermut, which is where vermouth gets its name). In addition to being great cocktail ingredients, both are excellent by themselves over ice, or with a splash of soda water (or perhaps sparkling wine) and a twist of orange or lemon peel.Ĭategorically speaking, the difference between Lillet, Cocchi, and vermouth is their bittering agents. In vermouth terms, they are closest to white/blanc vermouth, a colorless, sweet style vermouth ( very tasty in Martinis).īoth are light, straw colored and feature notes or citrus, spice with a touch of bitterness. They are both fortified wines (meaning wine with some spirit is added) that have been aromatized (infused with herbs, roots and other botanicals). Lillet Blanc and Cocchi Americano are made in a similar manner to vermouth. Just don’t use too much, 1 dash, 2 at the most, is all you need. It takes the drink from super tasty, to super tasty and interesting. Though the absinthe is the real linchpin here. One of my favorite aspects of this drink is it’s egalitarian composition, similar to the Last Word, with each ingredient sharing an equal portion of the workload (probably just my anal retentive tendencies coming through). You can read more about the Corpse Reviver lineage further down the page. If you walk into any cocktail bar and order a Corpse Reviver, the #2 is the version you’ll get. There is indeed a Corpse Reviver #1, but I’m pretty sure it’s sole function these days just to explain the #2 (like I’m doing right now). The #2 suffix is somewhat superfluous if you ask me. That being said, it is also perfectly appropriate for any occasion, day or night, hungover or not. When it's ice cold and consumed quickly, as I think it should be, it's like a turbo-charged shot of fresh-squeezed orange juice. As you might imagine, the Corpse Reviver is a popular hair of the dog remedy, taken as something to perk you up. 2, while others reach for other quinquinas (Tempus Fugit’s Kina L’Aero D’or is often cited as a close approximation of the original.) Authenticity should be applauded, but it might also be noted that few of those bars keep the drink’s preferred categorization as hair of the dog and serve the drink before noon. This tart, bracing, and altogether wonderful classic doesn’t need a catchy macabre name to make it memorable, though it certainly doesn’t hurt. Many bars rely instead on Cocchi Americano to recreate the Corpse Reviver No. And while Lillet exists now as Lillet Blanc, a lighter, sweeter aperitif, the original stuff has gone the way of the dodo. The latter was a quinquina aperitif-an herbal aromatized wine that relied heavily on chinchona bark, the stuff that gives traditional tonic water its bite. The #2 of which he speaks adds a splash of absinthe to equal parts gin, orange liqueur, lemon juice, and Kina Lillet. In Harry Craddock’s The Savoy Cocktail Book, which compiled well-loved recipes from The American Bar at London’s Savoy Hotel, the famous barkeep writes of the first Corpse Reviver: “To be taken before 11 a.m., or whenever steam and energy are needed.” While that drink is not the most famous of its morning cocktail family, it sets the groundwork for the group, which Craddock joyfully notes when he adds the second, more popular drink: “Four of these taken in swift succession will unrevive the corpse again.” The equal-parts cocktail has a name that sounds vital, but of an older world, where one might casually partake of a morning mixed drink to shake off the cobwebs of sleep (or of last night’s excess). The Corpse Reviver #2 has survived nearly a hundred years in the sometimes fickle world of cocktails. The HDR filter in ON1 Photo RAW 2017 is a great one to apply when processing architecture photos.
